Social Worker of the Year Award

The Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Workers is seeking letters of nomination for the 2010 Social Worker of the Year Award. This important award is sponsored by the Children's Brain Tumor Foundation. The award includes a monetary gift and plaque to the recipient in addition to membership recognition. The Social Worker of the Year will be announced in Anaheim during the annual conference in April, when all the nominated candidates will be recognized.
 
Nominees will be judged according to job performance, innovative program development, research, publication, and community education and development.  To be eligible, a nominee must have:
·        been a member of APOSW for two or more years
·        made a contribution to APOSW by, for example, writing for the newsletters, presenting a poster or seminar, or serving on a committee or other activity to benefit the organization and its members. 
·        provided exemplary service in their institution, organization or larger community.
 
All nominations must be received by March 10, 2010. If a person nominated in the past was not awarded Social Worker of the Year, you may submit his/her information for reconsideration.  Letters of nomination and support from social work colleagues, chief of service, hospital staff or community organization Executive Director, along with the nominee's Curriculum Vita should be sent to:
